Since 1963, the year of its foundation, the company Ghirardi Srl has pursued the goal of representing a point of reference in the sector of non-hazardous waste recovery, mainly paper and cardboard.

Over time, the company has had constant growth and has gone from an initial phase where it collected and recycled only paper and cardboard products in a small family warehouse, to expand the range of paper materials collected (currently they are carried out up to to 40 different selections of paper material), gradually adding plastics and wood over time, all within the factory in Strada Martinella in Parma which extends over 24,000 square meters and in which the company has been operating since 1998.

Over the years, the collection techniques have also followed a development path that has allowed the Ghirardi company to pass from the collection of materials with a manual system to the use of roll-off vehicles that allow the transport of containers, compactors, press-containers, placed at its customers to complete the service offered.

To date, the company has a large and modern logistics division that includes vans, trucks, mobile cranes and road tractors, for long-distance transport. All vehicles comply with the most recent EURO construction standards, EURO V and EURO VI, with lower environmental impact.

On the Italian market Ghirardi has been a member of the COMIECO supply chain consortium (National Consortium for the Recovery and Recycling of Cellulose-based Packaging) since 1998 , representing for this body the "recovery platform" for the province of Parma, and supplies important Italian paper mills, with a range of 40 types of selected paper materials. Since January 2003 the company has also joined COREPLA , the National Consortium for the Collection, Recycling and Recovery of Plastic Packaging Waste. Lastly, since October 2004 Ghirardi has been associated with RILEGNO , the National Consortium for the Collection, Recycling and Recovery of Wood Packaging Waste.

The quality of its work has allowed Ghirardi to expand its markets even beyond the border. In fact, the company supplies paper mills in Austria, Germany and Slovenia, and is gradually expanding its commercial network towards Asia, reaching India, Thailand, Vietnam and China through consortia to which it joins with other Italian recovery platforms.

The innovation of its processes and the modernization of its plants are essential to have a selected product that meets the strictest environmental regulations.
