Whether your pipelines are underground, aboveground or underwater, Geospatial has unique pipeline mapping and management solutions for the oil and gas, electrical, municipal and telecommunication industries. Our technologies map pipelines under rivers, lakes, ports and shallow in-shore waters such as the Gulf of Mexico to depths of 180 feet (55 meters). Additionally, our mobile ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) mounted mapping units are available for highly accurate (less than 10 cm or 3.9 inch deviation) long-range gas distribution/transmission projects. Geospatial's aerial sensors can be deployed by helicopters, fixed-wing air planes and soon, unmanned aerial vehicles "UAV's". Our aerial sensors can map both metallic and non-metallic pipelines as well as locate and geo-reference underground pipeline leaks. Our 3-D data acquisition and mapping services can save you time and resources by exceeding industry standards for accuracy without costly excavation or changing your preferred methods of sharing data.
MAPPING THE UNDERGROUND
Since its creation in 2007, Geospatial has delivered the highest quality pipeline location, data acquisition and mapping services available. By utilizing multiple technologies and refined data collection and management techniques, Geospatial effectively serves all pipeline sectors. Geospatial economically maps most pipelines to an accuracy of less than 10 cm (3.9 inches). Our technologies map HDPE – PVC or metallic underground pipes and conduits from 1 inch diameter and greater to depths of 50 feet (15 m). We map pipelines under rivers, lakes, ports and inshore waters with depths to approximately 180 feet (55 m).
UTILIZE INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES
Geospatial utilizes various data acquisition tools including in-pipe and surface-method technologies to locate and create accurate 3-D maps of underground pipelines. Our array of data collection technologies and extensive experience with difficult and unique situations helps insure your pipelines, whether underground, underwater or aboveground will be mapped accurately and effectively. Our services aim to save you time and resources, and mitigate risk from liability by making your pipeline data complete, accurate, and securely accessible via the web.
DATA MANAGEMENT – POWERED BY GOOGLE
Geospatial recognizes that managing pipeline data in a useful and easily accessible way is critical to getting the most value from your infrastructure systems. To accomplish this, GeoUnderground™ was developed. GeoUnderground™ is your secure, web-based solution for a simple, effective cloud-based display tool for your 3D pipeline location and attribute data. GeoUnderground is our proprietary cloud-based software developed on the Google Maps Engine and Google Maps API.
PLANNING
To implement a successful Asset Mapping and Management Plan we begin with a project plan and obtain any currently available documentation. We then assess the goals of our client including required detail and accuracy and to determine the correct technologies needed to provide the proper deliverable to the client
ACQUIRING
Each Geospatial Project Manager is thoroughly trained to utilize each of Geospatial’s data acquisition technologies. Our technicians are skilled and trained on both data acquisition and GIS data input into GeoUnderground. Most data processing is automated and occurs directly in the field. Some types of data are transmitted back to our facility for processing.
Geospatial’s Smart Probe Freedom II electromagnetic mapping system provides efficient underground pipeline mapping with centimeter accuracy in x,y&z, providing accurate 3D positional data along with top of grade and depth of cover data to within 10 cm (4 inches). There is no need to enter the pipeline and this technology is not affected by soil conditions.
The Smart Probe Freedom II Electromagnetic Pipeline Mapping Technology employs a set of magnetic field sensors to accurately measure the 3-D vector from our sensors to an underground utility and automatically combines this vector with absolute positions obtained via GNSS or other survey methods to obtain the 3-D coordinates of the utility. The Probes novel approach allows it to measure the 3-D vector from any vantage point within range and its built-in acceleration and magnetic sensors allow it to operate in almost any position. Moreover, it offers two distinct operating modes, line and sonde, extending its capabilities to most surveying situations.
With this system Geospatial has the ability to map most pipelines up to 50 feet (15 meters) in depth. We are capable of mapping both metallic and non-metallic pipelines such as HDPE, PVC or other composites. To map non-metallic pipelines, a detectable rodder must be inserted into the conduit. Our Smart Probe Freedom II EM Mapping System accurately maps underground cables as well as pipelines as small as 1” in diameter. Adaptations of our Smart Probe Freedom II EM Pipeline Mapping Technologies allow Geospatial to collect data with our sensors mounted to an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) allowing accurate and efficient data collection over a long distance. All data from this system seamless downloads via the web into our GeoUnderground data management system or any standard GIS system.
Geospatial’s Smart Stack™ Combined LIDAR, Infrared & Microwave Technologies was developed to locate underground pipelines and to detect voids and leaks in various underground pipelines including oil, gas, water and most other materials.
Our Smart Stack™ sensors can be deployed on a walking device, on a van or ground-based vehicle or (ATV) All-Terrain Vehicle. It can also be deployed via a helicopter, fixed-wing aircraft or (UAV) un-manned aerial vehicle.
This unique arrangement or “stack” of sensors and technologies allows Geospatial to collect accurate 2D pipeline locational information over large areas of ground very efficiently and economically. Geospatial’s Smart Stack Sensors™ have the ability to map pipelines made from any type of material, (metallic and non-metallic). Our sensors can locate pipelines to depths in excess of 5 meters (15 feet). When combined with Geospatial’s “ground-truthing” capabilities, that utilize a number of our technologies, we can combine highly accurate (10 cm or 4 inch) x,y&z co-ordinates to the data derived from our Smart Stack™ technologies creating a true 3D picture of the underground infrastructure covering a very large geographical area. In addition to accurate 2D or 3D pipeline mapping capabilities, Geospatial’s Smart Stack Technologies™ provide our clients highly detailed geo-referenced leak detection data over the entire area mapped with our Smart Stack™ system.
