The company GALIMEX EKO , as was established in 2007. One of the founders of the company and Galimex Ltd., which has been dealing with the sale and maintenance of cars. The main and quite logical intention was to complete the process of selling and maintaining vehicles in the last phase - ecological processing after the end of their use. Already at the beginning of the decision-making process, the most ecological approach to the method of processing old vehicles was chosen - their manual disassembly and subsequent consistent manual sorting of the generated waste. In this way, it is possible to minimize the amount of waste deposited in landfills by recycling the generated waste and thus minimize the adverse impact on the environment.

The process of granting authorization for the processing of old vehicles was a long-term process and was subject to constant inspections by authorized organizations, especially in the field of environmental protection. In the years 2007 to 2009, the Plan for the collection and processing of old vehicles was developed and subsequently approved, the construction and technological documentation of the operation was prepared and approved, and the construction itself was carried out on the premises of Galimex sro on Sučianská cesta in Martin - Priekope. After the position of the operation and the successful completion of the assessment of its functionality, the company was granted an Authorization for the processing of old vehicles on June 30, 2009, and on this day the operation began with the activity of processing old vehicles. In the area of ​​operation of Galimex sro on Rosinská cesta in Žilina, a collection of old cars was also established on the basis of a permit dated 18 August 2008. Since March 1, 2010, our company has signed a Framework Agreement on the provision of funds from the Recycling Fund. Pursuant to this Framework Agreement, the Recycling Fund provides contributions for the processing of old vehicles, which have significantly enabled us to improve the process of processing old vehicles in our operation. Over time, the company has expanded its services to other services in the field of waste management, especially in the field of processing and disposal of waste generated during car maintenance. Pursuant to this Framework Agreement, the Recycling Fund provides contributions for the processing of old vehicles, which have significantly enabled us to improve the process of processing old vehicles in our operation. Over time, the company has expanded its services to other services in the field of waste management, especially in the field of processing and disposal of waste generated during car maintenance. Pursuant to this Framework Agreement, the Recycling Fund provides contributions for the processing of old vehicles, which have significantly enabled us to improve the process of processing old vehicles in our operation. Over time, the company has expanded its services to include other services in the field of waste management, mainly in the field of processing and disposal of waste generated during car maintenance.

Our plant is equipped with technology that guarantees maximum ecological disassembly of old vehicles, subsequent sorting and ecological storage of generated waste, as well as processing of some waste by crushing and grinding. In 2013, we prepared a “Project for the retrofitting of processing facilities and the improvement of technologies from the separation and recovery of waste from old vehicles”, which we submitted to the Recycling Fund together with the application. Based on a positive assessment of our project, our application for funding from the recycling fund was approved in December 2013.
