Future Packaging & Preservation and its online division Time Capsules Etc has earned an industry-wide reputation for consistently delivering high quality stainless steel time capsules on time and under budget.
In 1986, Janet Reinhold founded the company Future Packaging when her home town of Covina, California celebrated its centennial of founding. Covina needed help placing their time capsule, and she had extensive experience with long term storage from her past training & employment.
When she discovered another company by that name, she changed the name to Future Packaging & Preservation in 1990. The company has had various numbers of employees throughout the years, and remains a family held business to this day.
We strive to provide exceptional service as well as high quality of workmanship. Our time capsule designs are well thought-out, and our time capsule experts have helped with projects of all sizes and importance.
It's about time capsules - and quality
Providing time capsules is a niche business. We provide superior time capsules for architects, construction engineers, and government. We also provide affordable stainless steel time capsules for individuals, schools, and smaller businesses and groups.
Our company's president is currently Janet Reinhold. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Anthropology-Sociology from Indiana University in Pennsylvania, and has taken courses in Business Administration towards an MBA at the University of Scranton and California State University, Long Beach. But the training with containers & long term storage comes from the US Army Logistics Center. She interned as a civilian Army Logistician in Texas and took a position at the Army Packaging, Storage & Containerization Center in Pennsylvania. It was there that she worked with Ray Hays and the long term packaging & storage project for the Surgeon General. They designed packaging for medical items inside M*A*S*H type shelters to be placed in a ready to deploy condition for some 20 years.
Our vice president and chief scientist & engineer is Dan Reinhold. He's developed the 12 point inspection we give to each time capsule before it's shipped to our customers. Dan graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with 2 degrees, one in Aerospace Engineering & one in Math. He holds a California Teaching Credential. He has also attended the University of Irvine towards a Masters Degree in Mathematics, however took a job with the Navy and worked at their testing facility in El Centro and then China Lake. He then worked as Design Engineer for Navy Quality Control at Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach. When the resident Navy Office there changed to an Air Force office, he transferred to the B2 Program at Northrop in Pico Rivera. Upon retiring he came to work for Future Packaging & Preservation.
