In 1981, Milton Williams established a small hauling company by the name of Williams Sand & Gravel in Graniteville, SC. The Williams family owned and operated the business out of their home, with his wife, Linda, answering the phones and dispatching Milton’s small fleet of trucks while he mined various types of sand on the family land behind their house.
As business grew, more mines were acquired and the pit behind the family house grew quite large. In 2002, Milton received his permit to operate a Construction and Demolition Landfill, and Rainbow Falls Landfill was born. The Williams family excavated even more sand from the mine behind the family house to make room for the landfill.
In an effort to make room for future construction, they needed to move the enormous sand pile out of the way. After looking at several different options, the Williams family decided to install a sand washing plant, and Full Circle Aggregates was born as the family business’ success continues to grow and support the Southeast.
To further its goal to be as sustainable as possible, Full Circle Aggregates recently added two more businesses to the operations site. GreenGo Recycling, LLC, focuses on the recycling of wood materials derived from landfill operations, and Up-Stream recycling was added to repurpose various materials from the operational waste stream, including cardboard, metals, plastics, and several other fibrous materials.
These companies ensure we protect the environment and everything it gives to us, while also helping recycle other materials and help keep Graniteville and the Augusta, Ga. area beautiful.
