Our company history
In January 1947 Otto Petke , the grandfather of the current managing director, founded a "standing business (shredded wool production, manufacture and trade)", according to the wording of the first business license.
The production of shredded wool began in a factory building that had not been destroyed by the war.
Later the production of quilted mats for mattress manufacture was added at several locations in Forst.
Production began in 1968 at Triebeler Strasse 107 with 32 employees.
The company is still located on this site today.
After a state participation had to be taken up in the 1960s, the private company became a limited partnership (limited partnership), "Otto Petke KG" was finally expropriated in 1972.
On July 1st, 1990 the company was re-privatized. The newly founded GmbH was led by Ingeborg Sander, daughter of the company founder, and her son Michael.
In order to be able to survive on the market in the future, the preparation of a comprehensive modernization was started immediately, as the machine park was up to date at the time of the expropriation.
The beginning was made in 1991 with a high-performance tearing machine. The tear fibers produced are processed into mechanically, thermally and dispersion-bonded nonwovens exclusively on our own fleece lines. In the same year the first fleece line was put into operation.
Up to now we have constantly invested in new technology, e.g. a modern fiber blending plant and another fleece line, in order to meet the high quality requirements of our customers.
We manufacture for you:
Needle fleece made from regenerated and primary fibers
