The genesis ...

Coming from the biofuel industry, Andreas Rück and Stefan Henning came up with the idea in 2013 of taking raw material sourcing for biofuel production from residual and waste materials into their own hands. The two founded the Foodback.

Initially, Foodback concentrated on the collection and processing of used cooking oil from the catering industry in order to feed it into biofuel production. The business idea and the associated regional concept were very well received by customers.

In the search for a new business location, talks were started with the Manfred Mukrasch company in 2017. For some time now, the company had been delivering the used cooking oil it had collected to Foodback for further processing and, for reasons of age, was looking for a suitable buyer for the company.

After successful discussions, Foodback took over the Manfred Mukrasch company in 2018, including its location in Germersheim. In addition, the takeover opened up a further business area, the disposal of packaged and unpacked stored food, leftovers and animal by-products of category 3.

Foodback now looks after over 1,000 customers professionally and sustainably in all matters relating to the disposal and recycling of these organic raw materials.
