FFT was founded in 1991 with an aim that was as clear in its simplicity as it was bold in its ambition: an aim to become an environmentally friendly products industry leader through establishing a world class portfolio of products. Our first product line tackled finding an environmentally friendly solution for the Fats, Oils, and Grease in municipal waste water facilities. We succeeded and are currently being used in some of the countries largest municipalities.

After the Deepwater Horizon accident and subsequent oil spill in 2010, development of a nontoxic dispersant was undertaken. The results of this testing effort were amazing. In theory, it works the exact same way as it does in a sewer system that has fats, oils and grease problems: it is extremely effective and has numerous benefits. It separates and transforms hydrocarbons to a food source for existing bacteria to digest. Continual testing of our FFT-Solution® Nontoxic Oil Dispersant has proven our product to be safe and effective, allowing Fog Free to form an oil remediation division. Our patented solution has since been used as the basis for a list of oil remediation products that work to remediate any and ALL categories of refined and unrefined petroleum hydrocarbons.

Due to its unique formulation from natural, organic substances, and it’s 100% toxin-free ingredients, FFT-Solution™ changes the dispersed crude oil particles into smaller hydrocarbons that are 100% digestible by the existing bacteria in the ocean and on land. The action of this unique formulation differs from toxic dispersal agents. Toxic dispersal agents, while separating crude oil into small particles, make these particles indigestible by natural bacteria because of the hazardous and non-attractive toxins attached to these small particles! Thus the natural bacteria in the sea and land areas will reject the biodegradation, because the particles are poisonous to the natural bacteria. Much like a banana ripens, due to its tasty attraction to natural bacteria (as well as humans!) a naturally tasty or attractive hydrocarbon will be eaten rapidly and completely by bacteria in the ocean.
Toxic dispersal agents basically spread the crude oil thinly but in doing so create hazardous waste in smaller particles in the sea that are not attractive to natural bacteria due to the toxins. This is the reverse action of FFT-Solution™ which creates bio-degradable (edible) smaller particles that will biodegrade due to individual particle’s attractiveness to bacteria, and the bacteria’s affinity for edible food sources. FFT-Solution™ creates an edible and attractive food source from the toxic crude. This alone is the most valuable benefit over other dispersal agents.
The unique ORGANIC formulation of FFT-Solution™ enables each and every individual molecule of solution to COMPLETELY attract the crude oil hydrocarbons to itself in a more effective dispersal action than toxic agents. This means that, regardless of the percentages of concentrations or ratios of product to crude oil, it is more effective in dispersing the crude than competing products.
If the average percentage of all known dispersant’s is (for example only) 35% and FFT-Solution™ is 35%, we have in theory doubled the net effectiveness due to the true transformation to a food source for existing microbes to digest.
Toxic dispersants applied to previous oil spills reacted by settling the oil below the water surface. This may require additional treatment applications to be injected underwater, creating larger, ongoing environmental problems.
FFT-Solution™ also benefits the shorelines, marshes, sandy or rocky banks and or beaches if it is applied prior to crude oil pollution. It has repelling properties until it is diluted by water. Once dilution occurs it will be active to seek hydrocarbons and will continue to couple with molecules until it is spent, enhancing bio-degradation.
