Fitzgerald Skip Hire are one of Limerick’s longest running waste disposal companies. We are fully licensed by Limerick City and County Councils and Clare County Council for Waste Collection and Transfer.

Background

The Fitzgerald family are in business over 30 years. Fitzgerald Skip Hire was originally a truck and plant hire business set up in the late 1980s by William and Mary Fitzgerald. By the 1990s our company had evolved into a skip hire business

William and Mary and 8 Fitzgerald children excelled in the business and today own the largest company of its kind in Limerick City.

Fitzgerald Skip Hire was incorporated into a limited company in 2007. Today we operate a fleet of over ten vehicles in Limerick City and have over 400 skip containers available to customers. The company employs over 20 fulltime and part time staff. We also own and operate a fully licensed waste transfer facility in Limerick City where the general public and local contractors can bring their waste to be recycled and handled in a safe manner. Charlie Fitzgerald is the current manager of the business with other family members having roles in the business. The Fitzgerald family remain hands on, taking care of smallest and largest tasks of daily business. We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and the personal touch.

Waste Management for a Zero-Waste Future

As Ireland move away from ‘landfill’ culture, many traditional dumps are closing down or are drastically altering their services, to meet demand for waste and recycling services that minimise environmental impact. We are focused on investing in new technologies and waste processes in an endeavor to reduce waste and increase recycling rates.

In the last 10 years, Fitzgerald Skip Hire have been striving to avoid going to landfill. All waste collected from the customer is brought back to the Fitzgerald’s Waste Facility where it is sorted and graded in accordance to size and waste type then shipped to other licenced recycling facilities for further processing, meaning zero landfill.
