The decrease in raw material resources day by day has made the concept of recycling compulsory for all manufacturing sectors. The necessity of using limited resources more efficiently has also increased the importance of environmentalist movements today.
From the point of view of production and consumption, the textile sector is one of the sectors that use the most raw materials in the world.
Every year, approximately 850,000 tons of textile waste is generated in Turkey. This is equivalent to cotton produced on an area of approximately 3,400,000 acres, or 453,000 football fields. Such a great economic loss causes the already limited raw material resources to be consumed much faster.
The Recycling Concept gains much more importance at this point. The recycling rate of textile waste in Turkey has reached 70% today with the efforts of environmentalist companies such as Ferhat Elyaf. In other words, approximately 595,000 tons of textile waste is recycled every year and brought into the economy as regenerated fiber. This means that the cotton produced on an area of approximately 2,380,000 acres, or 317,000 football fields, is brought into the economy.
In short, Ferhat Elyaf adds significant value to Turkey both economically and environmentally in the processing of textile wastes and reintroducing them to the economy as Regenerated Fibers. And thus, it holds the success of being one of the "Fieldless Cotton Producers" of our country.
