Constant modernization of its facilities today gives Fabrimet an annual production capacity exceeding 45,000 metric tonnes . Fabrimet is one of the largest manufacturers of pylons , distribution stations , guardrails and steel structures in Canada and the United States.

FABRIMET: A FAMILY STORY

It was in 1944 in drummondville that a young entrepreneur named georges guérette founded, with his son gilbert, the company “guerette machine shop”. The latter having 7 children, gilbert had to generate rapid growth of the business in order to provide for his family. This is how he developed the initial company under the name; general manufacturing company which was subdivided into three business sectors under one roof, namely the woodworking machinery, cast iron and sheet metal divisions.

Over the years, mr. Guerette has sold the machine à bois and fonderie de fonte divisions to family members. He renamed the sheet metal division in 1978 under the name of the company we know today: fabrimet inc. In recent decades, fabrimet has concentrated its operations in the manufacture of various steel products mainly for the energy pylon industry.

In 1978, gilbert's sons, georges and paul, joined the family business with gilbert, recently on board, currently representing the second generation running the business.

Georges guérette, president, mentions: “the majority of our products having been galvanized for a long time, our main production has evolved towards the sectors of electric transport and road works, in particular with safety barriers. ”
