EveRé, a subsidiary of the Spanish Urbaser Group, is a multi-line treatment center for household waste commissioned in 2010 in the industrial zone of Fos-sur-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône). An industrial player specializing in waste recovery, EveRé fulfills, in full transparency, a public service mission entrusted by Marseille Provence Métropole (now part of the Aix-Marseille Provence Métropole) as part of a public service delegation concluded for 20 years, with the requirement of compliance with regulations and the environment.
This site is the result of many years of reflection and studies carried out by Marseille Provence Métropole to optimize waste management in the 18 municipalities of the current Council of Territory (replacing the previous management method, namely landfill on the Entressen site)
A strategic location
The choice of the industrial zone of Fos-sur-Mer owes nothing to chance. In addition to the space available on the GPMM (Grand Port Maritime de Marseille), which enabled EveRé to build the first multi-line treatment complex in France, this industrial zone has three decisive advantages:
The connection to the railway network allows a maximum of waste (90%) to be transported by train. This eco-responsible mode of transport avoids the circulation of nearly 20,000 trucks per year on our roads.
The many industrial projects in the Fos area can facilitate interactions between companies and in particular the integration, into the energy circuit, of the resources generated by EveRé's activity: electricity, steam, biogas, etc.
The distance from urban areas (more than 3 km) ensures that there is no nuisance for local populations.
