About Company

Eutectix LLC manufactures metal alloys, magnetic materials, rare earth alloys, and master alloys such as nickel magnesium, nickel metal hydride materials, and custom engineered nickel calcium alloys for hydrogen storage and nickel vanadium alloys for shape memory applications. Eutectix has unique capabilities to produce these metals and alloys – critical materials which are essential to the military and widely used in electronics, solar, wind and battery technology. Green energy and automotive applications are projected to increase demand for REE (rare earth elements) and advanced rare earth alloys.  Founded in 2014, Eutectix has the largest  production capacity in the world for hydriding, inert atmosphere grinding and alloying. Its alloys are used in a wide range of industries and applications including electronics, automotive, aerospace, electrochemistry, magnets, superalloys, and 3D printing.  The acquisitions of the assets of Great Western Technologies Advanced Alloy Manufacturing and Molycorp Minerals and Alloys build on years of expertise and relationships in materials manufacturing and product development in rare earth elements. Eutectix has production capability to convert rare earth oxides and fluorides to high purity metal in its Tolleson plant. Eutectix operates two 12,000 square foot facilities in Troy, Michigan and plants in Tolleson, Arizona that serve its research and development and alloy manufacturing operations.

History

Eutectix, LLC formed in May 2014 when it acquired the former Ovonic Materials manufacturing facilities at 1864 Northwood Drive Troy Michigan from Great Western Minerals Group. Great Western Minerals Group operated the facilities as Great Western Technologies Inc. (GWTI) from 2007.

Metal Processing

Eutectix offers metal processing on a custom basis. Alloy processing, metal powder recovery and manufacture of novel materials to customer specifications; research and development; scale up to full production; and consulting services are available. Eutectix has production capability to convert rare earth and scandium oxides and fluorides to high purity metal in its Tolleson plant.  Eutectix operates nine large vacuum induction melting furnaces for alloy and rare earth materials manufacture. 660 lb. and 500 lb. capacity furnaces and two 1,000 lb. furnaces provide redundancy and emergency backup. The remaining production furnaces range in size from 100 lb. to 300 lb. Smaller lab-scale melting furnaces are utilized for research and for testing materials prior to scale up. In-house analysis of alloys helps speed development and reduce time to market. Eutectix metal processing services include powdered metal recovery and reprocessing; vacuum annealing; and powdered metal production  using inert atmosphere grinding, crushing and hydriding. Our facilities are specially equipped for handling hydrogen and processing reactive metal alloys, metal powders and pyrophoric metal materials under vacuum or inert atmospheres.

Alloy Manufacturing

Eutectix LLC custom manufactures alloys for aerospace and automotive applications and for emerging technologies such as improved batteries, hydrogen storage, more efficient semiconductor devices, rare earth magnets, photovoltaics and materials for additive manufacturing. Alloys can be made to order in large quantities. We supply ingots, bars, foils or powder and other forms to your specifications.  Eutectix has experience for grinding, and classifying metal powders. Our vacuum induction melting  process produces low levels of interstitial impurities.

Metal Alloy Products

metal alloy     Metal alloys based on titanium, vanadium, aluminum, cobalt, copper, iron, and nickel are manufactured with low interstitial impurities. These high purity metal alloys are used when common grades cannot meet the purity specifications for certain advanced applications.  Eutectix LLC metal alloys are produced in the following compositions – custom made to your exact specifications.  This is a list of readily available high purity metal alloys we manufacture.

Rare Earth Alloy Products

Rare earth alloys, are produced in the following compositions – custom made to your exact specifications. This is a list of readily available rare earth alloys we manufacture.

Custom Processing

Eutectix offers custom processing of novel materials to customer specifications; research and development; scale up to full production; and consulting services.  Eutectix Troy operates three large vacuum induction melting furnaces for alloy and rare earth materials manufacture. A 500 lb. capacity furnace and two 1,000 pound furnaces provide redundancy and emergency backup. Smaller lab-scale melting furnaces are utilized for research and for testing materials prior to scale up. Six furnaces in Tolleson range in capacity from 100 lbs. to 600 lbs. and the two largest of these are equipped for strip casting.
