EROAD: A story of innovation
EROAD North America started in Oregon in 2014 as the first approved electronic weight-mile tax service provider in the North American market. Soon after, EROAD launched electronic IFTA and IRP services, helping businesses simplify compliance. In 2017, as the deadline for motor carriers to adopt electronic logging devices approached, EROAD released an ELD and electronic DVIR solution that quickly became known for its unparalleled accuracy, consistency and ease of use.
These innovations were built on a foundation laid in New Zealand, where EROAD began in 2000 with a focus on modernizing paper-based road tax systems. In 2009, EROAD implemented the first network-wide GPS/cellular-based road user charging system, bringing New Zealand’s antiquated system into the digital age. Soon, EROAD began providing fleet management and safety solutions, becoming the telematics leader for New Zealand’s heavy vehicle sector.
EROAD acquired New Zealand-based telematics company Coretex in 2021, expanding EROAD’s portfolio of fleet management solutions that enable customers to optimize their operations with the convenience of a single, integrated platform.
