MISSION:
End of Life Electronics Midwest is a member of a national group of electronic-recycling collection and processing facilities.
We provide government agencies, companies, institutions, not for profits, and individuals across the country with an environmentally safe, cost effective service for recycling their obsolete computers, printers, fax machines, copiers, TVs and other items on our acceptables list.
As technology helps to improve our lives we leave in our wake old, outdated equipment that needs to be recycled in a secure and environmentally safe way. Our modern, closed-loop recycling process uses state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.
We have developed a process that uses no incineration, no landfilling, and no chemical leeching to ensure that virtually 100% of our customer’s E-waste is recycled and reused.
DESCRIPTION:
End-of-life-electronics are one of the fastest growing portions of America’s waste stream. In some areas E-waste is growing three times faster than any other type of municipal waste. By recycling we can reduce waste and be kind to our environment by keeping toxic materials from contaminating the soil and leaching into our ground water.
Electronics are made with many reusable materials. In 1998, over 112 million pounds of materials were recovered from recycled electronics including lead, steel, glass, and plastic.
Some obsolete electronics can create environmental hazards and legal liabilities if they are disposed of improperly. With more than four pounds of lead in many TV picture tubes and computer monitors, along with other potentially hazardous materials such as mercury, chromium, and cadmium, electronics call for special handling at the end of their lives.
SERVICES:
EOLE Midwest complies with all State and Federal regulations and issues all customers a Certificate of Recycling releasing them of the liabilities associated with the improper handling and disposal of these materials.
EOLE can provide its customers with a detailed Certificate of Data Destruction to ensure you that your data has been permanently eliminated. Hard drives can be physically destroyed as part of our recycling process or scrubbed clean using software that conforms to US Department of Defense cleaning standard DoD 5220.22-m
A rigorous reception procedure ensures precise identification of E-Waste materials on arrival at any collection center. Immediately after unloading, the materials are weighed and recorded to allow for batch traceability. This traceability ensures complete processing of all e-waste to the customer’s satisfaction and predetermined levels.
