Empire Steel is a steel erection company based in Humble, Texas. We specialize in structural steel erection, concrete tilt-wall erection, ornamental and miscellaneous steel installation, and decking. The company operates primarily in the Gulf Coast, Southern, and Central areas of Texas.

Who We Are

Empire Steel completes in excess of 200 contracts each year for many well-respected Texas-based general contractors. Our reputation is built on high quality work that is completed on time and on budget. Each of our crews is supported by a company-owned truck that features redundant welding capabilities. Empire Steel also owns and operates several cranes of varying sizes. This reduces potential job delays and scheduling problems commonly associated with rental equipment. While most of the company’s work is not bonded, Empire has the capacity to bond up to $10.0 million in work.

Our History

Empire Steel Erectors, L.P. was formed in May of 2000 as a successor to Empire Steel, Inc. Empire Steel, Inc. was chartered in 1969 by Mr. Frank Gunnels, Sr., who passed away in 1998 after a long and distinguished career in the construction industry in the Gulf Coast area. The company remains family owned with the second generation of the Gunnels family active in the business. In recent years the company has grown dramatically in size, increasing its annual revenue to over $20 million while continuing to operate profitably.
