Empire Iron Works Ltd. details, fabricates and erects structural steel for industrial, institutional and commercial applications in Alberta, including Edmonton, Calgary, Fort McMurray, and other locations in Canada such as British Columbia and the North West Territories. Pulp mills, mines, process plants, pipe racks, conveyor galleries, warehouses, high and low rise office buildings, shopping malls, hospitals and schools are pieces of EIW’s winning portfolio. Plate steel is processed into bridges, hydraulic gates, stop-logs, precipitators, tanks, hoppers, chutes, breeching, and engineered equipment.

Fabrication

Empire Iron Works Ltd. employs the latest in automated technologies to fabricate steel components accurately, efficiently and at competitive costs. Steel detailing software connects directly to CNC machines for error free work.Our plant is capable of cleaning and painting fabricated steel with a broad range of coatings, from simple primers and one-coat systems, to multi-coat high performance coatings. Steel is shot-blasted in an environmentally enclosed system and coatings are applied using spray equipment.

Welding:
The Canadian Welding Bureau has certified Empire Iron Works plant to CSA W47.1 – Division 1 level. Our welding engineers can work with you to solve even the most complicated welding problems. Welders are tested and ticketed bi-annually to verify their skill level. Our quality assurance program, audited by Quasar, to the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction's "Quality Guideline", will satisfactorily meet your most demanding quality needs.
