Dutchak Recycle and Scrap Metal is a locally owned and operated family business. For 18 years, we’ve operated as a scrap metal recycling and processing facility, servicing Thunder Bay and its surrounding area. William Dutchak started the business in a 500 square foot building, as a hobby after retirement. Since then, thanks to the support of loyal customers and businesses and the commitment and hard work of our employees, we’ve grown to 5 acres. We'll continue to grow, with the support of our Provincial Government, who believes in our growth and future potential. Dutchak Scrap Metal has been able to purchase a lugger truck, lugger containers, a truck scale, roll-off truck, grapple truck, an excavator with grapple/magnet, an excavator with shear, and baler/logger, thanks to the funding ($172,500) we received from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation through its Enterprise North Job Creation Program. Our Staff has grown to 20 employees and will continue to increase with our future growth. We are currently looking for a manager. We are proud to say that we have recycled over 14 million pounds of scrap metal last year.

Suppliers: A large part of our suppliers include the public, who come to our centrally-located facility, where their scrap metal is sorted and paid by weight. You can bring us one pound or one ton of scrap metal. By recycling, you not only save the environment, you also get Cash for your scrap. We also deal with small manufacturing companies to multinational corporations. Materials are either brought directly to our facility, or we provide scrap metal bins, free of charge, which we maintain. We also provide dump and yard clean-up for scrap metal. We will provide a weight scale ticket and payment will be issued immediately.

How We Pay: Our friendly staff will sort and grade your scrap metal, and you will be paid by weight. You may be paid with cash or cheque, whichever you prefer. We pay according to fair market pricing.

Health and Safety: Dutchak Recycle is committed to providing a safe environment for our employees and customers. Being a member of C.A.R.I. (Canadian Association of Recycling Industries) and I.S.R.I. (Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries) has provided us with the resources to help establish a Health and Safety Program that is geared for the recycling industry.

Environment: Dutchak Recycle is dedicated to operating in an environmentally safe manner. We are committed to recycling materials and preventing pollution. We now offer freon removal, at a charge, to prevent contaminants from getting into the environment.

SERVICES:

We provide scrap metal services to Thunder Bay and its surrounding areas. We provide container services. Just give us a call and we will provide you with the bin required for the job, free of charge. We'll empty it in a timely manner, provide weight scale tickets, using our certified scales and payment is made immediately, with either a cheque or cash. We also offer yard clean-up and dump clean-up for scrap metal.

Material Processing: The scrap metal is processed at our facility using balers, shears, plasma cutters, torches, and wire strippers. Our product is shipped throughout North American, as well as overseas.

What We Buy: Dutchak Recycle and Scrap Metal deals in scrap non-ferrous metals, as well as ferrous scrap. We do not yet take scrap vehciles.
