There are three main concepts to recycling: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

It is much easier for a consumer (or business) to reduce consumption or to reuse a product than it is for a collector to recycle a product. Assuming we are at the collection / recovery phase, DumpRunner should clarify a common misperception:
The actual goal is not to recycle. Rather, it is to create products that have value to an end user.

And therein lies the challenge. Recycling a product requires energy, time, effort and money. Given that, there needs to be a way to recover those costs. And the only way to recover those costs is to produce products that someone is willing to pay for. Thus, there needs to be value in what we recycle.
