Danny Hatch and David Stewart, owners of Dominion Septic, have been designing and inspecting septic systems for years. After seeing expensive systems installed over the years and then neglected to only cause expensive repairs, we saw a need to provide home owners and businesses a service to help insure the life of their system. Inspecting the work of other contractors has enabled us to utilize the best techniques and ideas to benefit our clients.

David Stewart

David attended college at Virginia Tech pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Crop, Soil & Environmental Science and a minor in Environmental Science, for which he received a diploma for in 1996. While at Virginia Tech he worked several summers with private soil consultants evaluating soils for drain fields. He was also a member of Virginia Tech’s award winning soil judging team. Upon graduation from college, David accepted a position with Fauquier County as a soil technician and in 1997 was promoted to Assistant County Soil Scientist where his primary duties included updating the County’s soil survey, providing detailed soil maps for development potential and agricultural uses and served as an expert consultant to the local health department on problem sites where alternative sewage disposal systems were needed. In mid-2000 he left Fauquier County and joined a private soil consulting firm.

In early 2004, David decided to leave the private sector and return to Fauquier County as the County Soil Scientist. He continued to consult privately on weekends and in early 2005 left Fauquier County and became co-owner of Dominion Soil Science, Inc. Shortly after establishing DSS, Inc., Dave was instrumental in organizing Dominion Septic and is currently the President of that corporation.
