In 1965, when founded by Lloyd J. Kirtland, DK Trading Corporation began its operation as a paper broker, buying and selling paper stock in the Northeastern United States.In 1969 David L. Kirtland, entered the family business and increased the scope of the business to include all types of paper products. Handling approximately 4,000 tons of paper per month, DK Trading recognized a potential for increased business and entered the international market by opening an office in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1987. In 1990 DK Trading began to establish a presence in Massachusetts with the opening of an office in East Longmeadow followed by the opening of the Duxbury office in 2002. Currently the Duxbury office is the only remaining office in Massachusetts since the sale of the East Longmeadow office in 2010.
