Direct Metals Co., LLC was founded in 1996 by John Hoover, Tom Hoover and Haynes Carswell. They realized there was a need for another metals company that would specialize in perforated metal, wire mesh, floor grating, expanded metal, stair treads, safety decking, fiberglass grating and handrail components.

Direct Metals carries an extremely large inventory of industrial products in warehouses in Atlanta, GA and Chicago, IL – available in carbon, stainless and galvanized steel, aluminum as well as fiberglass grating. With a modern communications network connecting all of our employees by computer and telephone, as well as processing capabilities including shearing, sawing, punching, drilling, welding and additional fabrication expertise, Direct Metals serves customers throughout the Eastern United States and beyond.

In just a few years, we have established a reputation for courteous and knowledgeable service with quick “turnaround” of orders placed. The customer is truly the driving force at Direct Metals Co. with a strong emphasis by our employees on accuracy and integrity. While we strive for perfection, in the event of the inevitable error, our policy is to "Do What's Right For The Customer." After all, a company’s reputation is often enhanced by the way it solves problems.
