A Family Affair We’re a family business led by Pat Thompson, a third generation jeweller, goldsmith and designer. Pat’s grandfather Paddy established Thompson’s Jewellers on Water Street in 1905, handing over the reins to Pat’s father Robert in 1957. Following in his grandfather and father’s footsteps, Pat established his own jewellery business with Diamond Design in 1991. In The Community We are honoured to be a successful Newfoundland and Labrador based business, and are delighted to be an active member of the St. John’s area community. A long-term supporter of cultural groups such as the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra and the Tuckamore Festival, we also provide assistance to dozens of local charities and fund raising events each year.
