The D. H. Griffin Companies (DHG) is a group of privately owned and integrated companies that provide contract demolition, environmental and site development services, to both public and private sectors. Together, the DHG network includes over 1,000 employees in offices throughout the South and Mid Atlantic states, with an equipment fleet numbering over 600 pieces. D. H. Griffin Wrecking Company was founded in 1959 by David H. Griffin, Sr. and his wife Marylene F. Griffin. Being offered an opportunity to salvage building materials from a building scheduled to be razed, D. H. Griffin, Sr. performed the first dismantling, removal and recycling job in the company's history.

Since that first project in 1959, the company has grown steadily. In 1967, the small demolition and recycling company known today as D. H. Griffin Wrecking Co., Inc. was incorporated. In the years since that time, the wrecking company has grown to be the one of the largest demolition contractors in the world. In 2009, Demolition & Recycling International (D&RI) ranked D. H. Griffin Wrecking Co. Inc. as the 6th largest demolition company in the world

In 1985, D. H. Griffin established Demolition & Asbestos Removal Inc. (DARI), an environmental affiliate company, to provide associated environmental support for demolition projects. DARI services include asbestos and lead abatement, mold remediation, and removal of universal wastes and other hazardous materials. DARI has seen significant growth since 1985 and today employees over 200 employees in offices throughout the Southeast and Mid Atlantic regions of the U.S.

The D.H. Griffin Companies' scope of service has continued to grow since that time and now includes affiliate companies D. H. Griffin Infrastructure, LLC. and D. H. Griffin Contracting, Inc. D.H. Griffin Infrastructure LLC. was formed to provide all aspects of construction site development including grading, concrete and rock crushing, storm drainage, water and sewer utilties installation, other civil and structural concrete, highway and bridge construction. In 2005, DHG's acquisition of Taft Contracting Company's Southern Division added industrial equipment installation, relocation and removal to the list of turnkey services provided.

The DHG family of companies also includes a commercial construction company, as well as a used equipment/investment recovery division that can buy and sell used equipment from various sectors including pharmaceutical, chemical, food and manufacturing markets. These divisions have added to the services offered by DHG, allowing DHG to self perform as a full service construction company, providing associated turnkey services under one contract.

Today, the DHG Companies continue to operate as a family owned business. Many things have changed since the company first started, but not our dedication to providing professional services.
