A strong work ethic is something owner Jose DeLaTorre has always applied to any work that he has done. The oldest of five children, Mr. DeLaTorre, Jr., learned this work ethic and business from his father, Jose DeLaTorre, Sr., who owned and operated a landscaping design business. When DeLaTorre, Jr. turned 18, he started working for a local septic company, where he applied his strong work ethic. He stayed with the company for 10 years, installing, repairing, and pumping septic systems. During this time, he also started a family. Wanting a comfortable life for his wife and children, he decided to own his own small business.

DeLaTorre & Sons Opens

In 1992, DeLaTorre, Jr. founded J. DeLaTorre & Sons Trucking, bought a pair of big rigs, and began working as a sub-hauler. The first few years were not easy ones, but DeLaTorre, Jr. stuck with it. The company eventually stabilized and continued to grow each year.

As the company name implies, Jose envisioned becoming a family business. As his family grew, DeLaTorre, Jr. and his wife looked for ways to expand the business, and in 2002, DeLaTorre Septic and Trucking LLC was founded.

Today, Jose DeLaTorre, Jr. has five sons, a daughter, and three grandchildren. He and his wife Tennille (who studied business management and then continued onto Law at UC Davis) continue to focus on customer service by continuing to stay on top of the industry, focusing on solutions that deliver the best results for their customers.
