Deep Ocean Engineering started as a small engineering company in 1982 and has over 600 sophisticated ROV systems currently being used in the field worldwide. Based out of San Jose, CA, we continue to build, design, and manufacture the highest quality ROV systems in the world. NUCLEAR INSPECTION

Our Firefly and P-150 were originally designed for our nuclear clients and their examination of BWR reactors' core plates and fuel bundles. With the P-150's removable manipulator, mandatory object retrieval and tank maintenance tasks are able to be completed in a radioactive environment.

LAW ENFORCEMENT

Law enforcement agencies such as police, sheriff, fire, and emergency response departments use our Phantom T5 ROV for a multitude of applications. Evidence recovery or searching for a missing person's body in a body of water is easily accomplished with a mobile command center. Being able to save time by surveying large masses of water for an object or person is optimum for these agencies because time and money matter.

SCIENCE

Science applications for our ROVs and USVs span across multiple models within our product line. Whether you are conducting species abundance surveys at 1000m depth with our Phantom S5 or you are classifying habitat conditions within the littoral zone with our Phantom T5, you can rely on Deep Ocean's experience in this field to make sure you get the right vehicle for your applications.

MILITARY/HOMELAND SECURITY

Military and Homeland security applications of our vehicles are second to none. Being able to deploy a reliable inspection class vehicle quickly to look for any type of safety hazard within harbors or ports can help save lives and keep our uniformed men and women safe while protecting their country. Locating limpet mines on ship hulls or piers, identifying unexploded ordinance, and even mine detonation have all been uses by past Deep Ocean Engineering, Inc. customers.

MUNICIPALITIES

Water projects, dams rivers, diversions, water tanks, trash racks; these are what you think of when you think municipalities. When water delivery, maintenance of equipment or water quality for health reasons are an issue, our ROVs and USVs are the perfect solution. Whether it's a moveable 3D multibeam scan of a Dam wall or a ADCP survey of a high current river, we have the tools to accomplish the work.

SURVEYING

The ability to provide Integrated ROV/USV Solutions to our customers gives us the unique ability to provide a multitude of sensor options for almost every type of survey application. With our ROVs and our USVs, there aren't very many places you can't go and gather sonar, videographic, current profiles, bathymetry, or a whole suite of other types of sensing options.

OIL AND GAS

Although our vehicles aren't considered "work class" because of their size, it doesn't mean they can't be a valuable tool in the Oil and Gas field. With a wide range of depths, sizes, and sensor options, you can accomplish simple video inspections or conduct technical 3D multibeam scans at a much faster rate than the traditional tripod mount method. Support vessels for these ROVs can be small ships with a low number of crew so time and more importantly money can be saved very easily.

CINEMATOGRAPHY / TREASURE HUNTING

Deep Ocean's vehicles have been used for a multitude of video projects over the years. National Geographic and other well known cinematographers have used our vehicles for scientific research or shipwreck footage for documentaries and movies. They have also been used to search for ships and wreckage where treasure hunters believe to be massive amounts of artifacts, jewels or anything else of historical or monetary value.
