About Company

The company D-nature is a young company that focuses entirely on the development of a solution for asbestos cement products. The installation that D-nature has in mind would be the world's first circular permanent solution for asbestos cement waste.

At the moment, all attention is focused on the design and preparations for the realization of the installation. D-nature attaches great value to personal contact with the environment, with authorities, science and other interested parties.

Two “R” Recycling group invests in D-Nature.

Two “R” Recycling Group ( www.puinrecycling.nl), located in Hengelo and specialized in the recycling of stony materials, announces that it is investing further in D-Nature, a company focused on the development of a solution for asbestos cement products. Two “R” Recycling group already had a minority stake in D-Nature and are now taking over the remaining shares from investment company Infestos.

Anton Reef, owner of Twee “R” Recyclinggroep, explains: “D-Nature fits in our vision to invest in innovation and our belief in the circular economy: an economy in which the raw material flow is closed and where practically no waste remains. In the field of asbestos, this is still a huge challenge for us, as asbestos is currently not processed yet and is therefore dumped, even more than 100,000 tons per year. In addition, asbestos roofs will be banned in the Netherlands from 2024, which will only increase this challenge. D-Nature offers a solution for the processing of asbestos cement products, so that they no longer need to be dumped. It does this by means of denaturing: the heating of asbestos which permanently changes the risky structure and leaves a harmless mineral. The residual product after denaturing has similar properties to cement and is therefore very suitable for use in the cement industry. We look forward to entering this next phase of D-Nature and investing further in this important technology for the future.”

Our goal is to create fair and sustainable added value, which benefits current and future generations.

D-Nature

The solution for recycling Asbestos cement, this was what D-nature worked on. (DNature2019) Due to extreme political ambiguities and no communication , we regretfully had to decide to stop the project. Pulling a politically dead horse is no longer worth it to us.

In our view, the Netherlands will therefore not be circular asbestos cement by 2050 .

203 municipalities have supplied data for the national Asbestos roof map. Within these 203 municipalities there is still a total of almost 58,000,000 m2 (870,000 Tons) of asbestos roofs. The other 152 municipalities still have to provide their data on the number of asbestos roofs and m2 of asbestos. This could mean that an average of 4,300 tons will be released per municipality. In total there would then be approximately 1,526,500 tons of asbestos roofs available in the Netherlands. All these tons will go to our 18 licensed landfill sites in the Netherlands in the future. This is called Circular.

8 million tons of asbestos cement that has been processed in the Netherlands and has caused many victims, will one day have to be destroyed.

Landfilling is currently the only solution for the asbestos-containing waste. D-nature would like a better patented solution than landfill, but stop this process because of political communication. This is a solution that is sustainable, better for the environment and people, but above all we clean up our mess for generations to come. This should not be monetized. We had the advantages for years and our children may have the disadvantages.

The different quantities of asbestos cement, steel with asbestos, sand with asbestos and other contamination with asbestos should be kept at the LMA, LAVS and of course also the VA. We are curious about the quantities that these parties have registered so far.

Recycling is hip, but every waste bag with asbestos simply ends up in the landfill
