Since 1999, Curitas has provided professional textile collection with a high service level for municipalities. In addition to municipalities, we also work with (retail) companies and schools to ensure that as little textiles as possible end up in residual waste.
Using various collection methods and means, we offer customization so that every customer collects clothing and shoes in the best possible way. In addition to collecting, we also ensure that all clothing and shoes in the Netherlands are sorted so that each garment gets a second life that is as sustainable as possible.
Collecting
Collecting clothes is a profession in itself and requires a lot of attention, while the waste flow is relatively small compared to, for example, residual waste. Municipalities therefore often choose to outsource textile collection to a professional collector. A professional collector such as Curitas has the necessary permits, professional diplomas and experience.
We ensure that there are sufficient collection containers in the municipality and that they are always accessible. Did you know that some Curitas containers are emptied almost daily? This way we ensure that you can always get rid of your old clothes and shoes!
To sort
All textiles that we collect are fully sorted in the Netherlands by the certified sorting companies of Boer Group. These are Gebotex, Euro Used Clothing and Marbo Used Clothing.
Because all textiles are sorted by our own companies, we know for sure that the textiles will get a good, sustainable destination and we will retain (social) jobs in the Netherlands. That also makes it easy to show our customers what we do with “their” old clothes and shoes.
To recycle
Everything that can still be worn or used again is reused. Is something no longer portable? The sorting company then determines the best recycling destination based on the type of material and the condition of the textile. The various recycling items ultimately end up at a specialized processor who recycles the material into products such as insulation material or cleaning rags. This way, your broken towel will also get a second life!
Isn't recycling possible yet? We work hard on innovations to ensure that all textiles can get a second life!
