John F. Steeves opened the doors of his shop to the public in 1914. With his eye trained on the meticulous detail that was standard at that time, the current owners’ grandfather built his company – John Steeves Practical Patterns –on those same principles of focused artistry and precision, and specialized in providing the foundry industry with a wide range of custom hand-carved wood patterns.
With the acquisition of another pattern company in 1917, Steeves’ operation became Corbett-Steeves Pattern Works, Inc. At the same time, Steeves’ son began his apprenticeship at the rapidly and ever-expanding company, and in the 1930’s, John K. Steeves became a partner. In 1945, John K. Jr. began work at Corbett-Steeves Pattern Works, Inc. as an apprentice, just as his father had, and is now the owner and president of the company his grandfather created. Corbett Steeves continued to enjoy success and moved to a more spacious location in Rochester, NY, where it remains to this day.
With the addition of Kevin Steeves – the fourth generation of the Steeves family – Corbett-Steeves Pattern Works, Inc. is committed to manufacturing products with the same high quality and traditional artistry of the past, while remaining on the cutting edge of technological advances in order to cater to a completely new wave of clientele. A focus on singular quality and exceptional service, all while being budget-conscious, is what sets us apart. Whatever your project entails, we have the skills and capabilities to bring it from an idea to completion.
