About Company

Copperworks was founded in 1981 by John Strong who believed in creating quality products with efficient techniques that minimized labor and natural resources.  Mio Metals was formed in 2004 with the acquisition of Copperworks so our history dates back quite a bit. The Copperworks lineage has grown and expanded beyond copper and now our surfacing and custom fabrication is offered under our Mio Metals brand.Headquartered in Sonoma County, California, Joe Cain's Mio Metals stands for sustainable business practices that include high quality, fair prices and wages, and keeping our impact on the environment low by keeping our recyclable content high. Our fabrication process is often done with tools that are hand or foot powered and we use low-energy soldering to minimize our energy consumption.  Our products have been analyzed for the best balance between environmentally friendly materials and long-lasting value. Our surfacing materials are laminated to FSC certified wood and the metals are all recyclable.
