Al Melideo began manufacturing galvanized residential trash cans and other steel products in 1959. In the early 1970's, looking to expand his steel processing, he began to make steel component parts for commercial container manufacturers. This led to his own front load and roll-off container manufacturing, and in 1974, Consolidated Fabricators was formed. Since this time, Consolidated has grown to be the largest container manufacturer of its kind on the West Coast.
Al's experience at processing steel and components parts taught him a valuable lesson; to be self-sufficient in all aspects of manufacturing. By doing so, he could control his costs, maintain production schedules, and most importantly, keep on time delivery commitments to his customers.
This reputation for on time delivery is still the marching order of his son, Michael, who now heads up the company. To this day, the steel purchasing and processing aspect of the company is its stronghold. In 1978, steel processing was further expanded by adding a steel service center to its locations. Steel coils were now purchased directly from mills, enriching their buying power and better controlling inventory levels. During the 1980s, several more steel processing and container manufacturing plants were started, including the "Building Products Divison" which produces light gauge framing products for the construction industry. The "Centennial Steel Divison" expanded to include plants in Los Angeles and Indiana. Additional container manufacturing plants were also started in Galt (Northern California), and a Maquiladora in Tijuana, Mexico.

Consolidated Fabricators manufactures and repairs waste, recycling and collection equipment. As an extension of our service, we also offer repair services and parts for all our waste container product lines. We are conveniently located in Sun Valley, Van Nuys, Fontana, Vernon, Galt, Otay Mesa, and Tijuana, Mexico. Consolidated Fabricators proudly serves the waste industry including hazardous waste, scrap waste, grease waste and recycling waste.
