CO.NIP
National Plastic Packaging Consortium is a voluntary consortium that was formed in 1998 pursuant to art. 38, paragraph 3, letter a) of Legislative Decree 22/97 with the approval of the National Waste Observatory.
Its purpose is to reduce the environmental impact through the recycling of waste from its secondary and tertiary rigid packaging made of poleolefin material.
To carry out its business, it implements a model that essentially responds to four principles: shared responsibility, the polluter pays, prevention and recovery rather than disposal.
The application of these principles is achieved in the creation of a “closed loop” system where the main players in the crates and pallets supply chain work in synergy.
MISSION
The Consortium's mission is:
• To organize and promote the return, collection, collection of secondary and tertiary plastic packaging waste on private or equivalent surfaces;
• The recycling and recovery of plastic packaging waste;
• Inform users of plastic packaging, and in particular consumers, on their role and on the collection and recovery systems available, on the meaning of the mark affixed to plastic packaging and on the relevant elements of management plans for packaging and plastic packaging waste.
