Conecsus Aerospace, a division of Conecsus LLC, specializes in recycling and recovering value from commercial and military jet engines or turbine engines. Conecsus Aerospace maximizes the value of jet engines and engine components by disassembling them, separating the high-temperature alloys, and recovering the precious metals. The recycled alloys are sold as high-temperature metallic scrap and the recovered Gold, Platinum, Palladium, and Silver are sold in the precious metal markets. Conecsus Aerospace’s expertise, sophistication, and proprietary treatment process provide reliability for the customer along with the highest return for their material.
Conecsus Aerospace began operating under that name in February 2012. Previously the aerospace scrap engine parts recycling operation in Terrell was a division of ECS Refining Texas which was itself a division of ECS Refining, based in Santa Clara, California.
ECS Refining began in 1980 as an electronic scrap recycling facility primarily servicing the Silicon Valley and quickly established a reputation of environmental leadership in the refining of secondary metals by offering unique capabilities to develop responsible recycling options for businesses.
In the fall of 1996 ECS Refining began operating a solder recycling facility in Terrell, Texas, a city located 30 miles east of Dallas. The facility was originally constructed in 1991 on land that had been agricultural and was formerly a lead-acid battery recycling plant before it was purchased by ECS. The aerospace division was started in 2001 in this same facility and specialized from its beginning in turbine engine teardown and precious metal recovery from aircraft turbine engine parts.
In 2008, after several years of positive growth, the aerospace operation moved into its current 50,000 square-foot dedicated facility, also located in Terrell.
In early February 2012 a private equity firmed partnered with the electronic scrap recycling arm of ECS Refining, retained the name ECS, and gave the aerospace and solder recycling facilities in Terrell the opportunity to develop their own unique identities, one of which is now called Conecsus Aerospace.
Throughout the past sixteen years ECS has developed a stellar reputation with City of Terrell officials, the Terrell Economic Development Council, and Terrell’s residents, a reputation that Conecsus Aerospace has embraced and continued. Conecsus Aerospace provides a stable and growing source of employment to the community, actively purchases goods and services from local businesses, and is an ardent supporter of local charities.
