Founded in 1992 by Jim Northup and two other shareholders, Concept Molds established its first location in Portage, Michigan. After three years in Portage, we quickly outgrew the leased building and relocated to what is now the current location in Schoolcraft, Michigan. We built a 7,000 square foot building on the 10 acres of land and have since built an additional 13,000 square feet of climate controlled space.
By 2000, Concept Molds employed more than 30 individuals and three years later, Jim’s brother Dan joined the company by purchasing 50 percent of the available shares, making the brothers the sole shareholders of Concept Molds.
In February, 2014, Medbio, Inc.a Grand Rapids, Michigan, based precision injection molding company acquired Concept Molds. Medbio and Concept are both multi-generational owned companies, and they share a commitment to delivering quality and value to every customer. The partnership between both companies had been developing for some time. Concept’s services and expertise gives Medbio additional tooling capabilities to offer their customers.
