Comturn Manufacturing History

Our family has been in the screw machine industry since 1943. My brothers and I were exposed to the industry practically by the time we could walk. I can recall many of times going down to the plant with my father on weekends. He would work on a job set-up and also start up one or two Acme-Gridleys.

My job was to spread the metal turning around in the chip box as it filled up. As I recall, I could hardly see in that chip box. I could not have been more than seven years of age. That early exposure literally altered our DNA and made us superb machinists. The cutting oil was in our blood and gave us a natural affinity for the industry.

For over 70 years we have solved many machining challenges for our customers that not only met, but exceeded their requirements at an economical cost.
