Computer Recycling & Refining, LLC has been recycling computer equipment for over 20 years. Founded in 1980, Computer Recycling & Refining is a pioneer in the recycling industry. To this day, Computer Recycling & Refining continues to meet and exceed customer expectations for all of their e-waste (electronic) recycling needs.Computer Recycling started out as a small family operated business recycling computers in a garage, but over the years has the developed the capability to handle much more than just recycling computers. Today while still recycling computers, we also provide complete end of life computer solutions and handle all types of electronic equipment, including computers, monitors (CRT’s), servers, printers, telephone systems, printer circuit boards and many other electronic products. We have the ability to remove and recycle large mainframe systems such as obsolete Central Office Switches (ESS), and cellular equipment. Computer Recycling and Refining has been a recycling pioneer for the last 20 years and we will continue to lead way.It is our intent to serve businesses and the local community by meeting all their e-waste needs. We provide complete solutions for companies that need a plan of action to phase out their end of life computers or need to remove a large mainframe system from a building. Today of course, recycling is about much more than just removal and disassembly. Companies need to know that their information is safeguarded at all times. Computer recycling offers a complete recycling service for businesses that need safe and secure destruction of valuable company information that is typically stored on individual hard drives.Large obsolete mainframe computers were starting to be removed from companies that were replacing them with smaller and more technically advanced systems. At the time, most of this equipment made its way to scrap yards and even landfills. All of this equipment had precious metals inside that not only needed to be recycled but also had monetary value. CRR developed a process of removing these components in a safe manner, as well as recycling the materials such as printed circuit boards, wire and steel. With the passage of time, additional computer scrap (called E-waste today) was generated as companies needed to remove these large obsolete systems. CRR was one of the only companies in New England able to meet the demand of removing these computer systems and extracting the recyclable components in a cost effective and safe manner. As the industry has changed, so has CRR. We have evolved to meet the challenges that companies face in disposing their e-waste. Most of the computers today are small and take up less space, have fewer metals inside and unfortunately have less monetary value in recovery. New laws and regulations have reclassified the way e-waste is handled and dismantled. There is also concern about information that is stored on the hard drive of computers, which has lead to data destruction.
Recycling:Computer Recycling offers two different tiers of service when related to recycling your e-waste. These are the basic plan and a safe and secure plan. The basic plan is for those who just need to recycle their e-waste in the most cost effective way and don’t need any information to be destroyed or documented. The safe and secure plan is for businesses that must have the information on their hard drives destroyed and need documentation and confirmation of the services performed. CRR considers personal computers, monitors, printers, keyboards, and scanners as e-waste. CRR properly recycles any and all e-waste regardless which plan you select.
