History

Groupe Coderr has existed since the late 1970s, when environmental issues were just beginning to take on the importance we know them today. The waste of resources was one of the issues questioned, and the concept of sorting at source directly at home, recently discovered, was the ideal tool for raising awareness of the impact of our behavior.

This is how a group of volunteers, mainly made up of teachers, decided to take the bull by the horns to generate change and offer the Jeannois population recovery and recycling activities. A host of education, awareness and communication initiatives, along with conditioning activities, have multiplied year after year.

Along the way, it became apparent that the social issue was also at the heart of the expected change. A finer orientation then emerges; through its historical materials recovery activities, the organization chooses to help people furthest from the labor market by offering them socio-professional integration courses; what was then called the “recycling” of people, giving Groupe Coderr its definitive mission linked to the social economy. This is how the love story between this organization and its community has never wavered.
