Cleveland Metal Exchange started in 1994 as a distributor of flat rolled Stainless Steel and Aluminum products. The company’s founding principles of hard work and perseverance as well as the development of long standing personal relationships with their customers are what still guide us to this day. We wanted to create a different kind of Metal Service company ,one that tried to understand the customers’ needs rather than the industry trend of the time, standardization of sheet and coil sizes.

In 1999 Cleveland Metal bought its first cut to length line. With it came a warehouse and quickly the service side of our business grew to include two slitting lines, two cut to length lines, 8 shears, a flat bar line and sheet polisher. With over 8 million Lbs. of 300 and 400 series stainless steel we quickly became a go to source for flat rolled stainless steel with the ability to service customers both large and small.

Today Cleveland Metal Exchange has grown to over 50 million pounds of shipment sold per year. Many of the original team members assembled in the early days remain with CME today. Collectively our core team has over 150 years’ experience in the Stainless Steel and Aluminum industry.
