For over 150 years, Cleveland City Forge has maintained an incredible history as a manufacturing leader in the forged steel structural hardware industry. From our humble beginnings back in 1864, we quickly built a reputation for applying innovative manufacturing methods with precise engineering to produce quality products that withstand the test of time.In the early years, our focus was to manufacture structural hardware for the Lake Erie marine industry. By the late 1920’s, we expanded the product line to include clevises and turnbuckles to support the flourishing construction market. As the demand for forged steel structural hardware continued to grow, it became apparent that industry wide quality standards needed to be developed. Recognizing this in the early 1950’s, ASTM in partnership with CCF, developed industry quality and performance standards for the clevis and turnbuckle product lines. Those standards still remain in place today.
Today, our extensive manufacturing capabilities have reached far beyond the marine industry. We are proud to have partnered with industry leaders in the Construction, Energy, Rigging & Lifting and Industrial environments. We have produced custom steel forged and machined parts that range in size from less than 1 pound to 250 pounds. We understand that very few companies get the honor and privilege to share in a 150 year milestone. Working together with our employees, customers, industry partners and communities, we look forward to a future that is strong and vital as it was in 1864 when we started.
