About Company

CIRCON Environmental is the industry leader in innovative waste management solutions. We turn waste into newly valuable, marketable products, improving clients’ bottom lines and quantifiably improving sustainability efforts. With more than a century’s worth of combined experience and a personal commitment to customer service, our team works harder, thinks smarter, and moves faster to create tailored solutions that benefit our customers and our planet.

CIRCON is committed to safety and regulatory compliance, and to protecting our greatest asset: our staff and teammates. Just as we’re constantly creating more efficient waste management solutions, we’re constantly working to improve our safety standards—and our record shows it.

CIRCON never takes a one-size-fits-all approach. We collaborate with clients to create innovative, unique waste management solutions and tailor-made pricing models that align with specific objectives and budgets.

CIRCON creates solutions to tough business challenges involving waste and off-spec petrochemical products. A commitment to the future of our planet leads us to repurpose these materials for use in an alternate industry and to ensure there is no resulting residual waste.

History

The 2019 merger of STC and Intergulf Corporation created CIRCON, a waste recycling and management company providing innovative technologies and services that turn problematic material into valuable products or fuels. We stand apart by providing personalized service powered by a close-knit team with a combined century’s worth of problem-solving experience.

1951

Sumter Transport Company is founded in Sumter, South Carolina, providing cost- and labor-saving approaches to waste management and transportation.

1983

Intergulf Fuels is formed in Channelview, Texas, blending and selling bunker fuels in shore tanks in a public terminal.

1990

STC develops the first in its family of patents with the Roberoller agitated tanker system, which keeps heavy sludges in suspension during transport, preventing build-up of tanker heels.

1995

Intergulf Fuels partners with ChemSep, Inc., a leader in waste recycling and disposal.

1999

ChemSep, Inc. constructs the Bayport processing plant in Pasadena, Texas, expanding its innovative recycling services to wastewater, tank bottoms, and recoverable petroleum products.

2001

After a long partnership, Intergulf Fuels and ChemSep, Inc. merge to form Intergulf Corporation.

2006

STC partners with KilnDirect to provide customers with access to dedicated facilities where waste is repurposed to valuable fuel products.

2008

STC continues to pioneer innovative technologies, creating a better way to manage and transport waste.

2010

Intergulf constructs an atmospheric distillation column in La Porte, Texas, designed to refine mixed hydrocarbons for future use in petroleum products.

2015

An evaporative distillation unit and oil recovery unit are installed at Intergulf’s Hwy 225 facility, expanding its ability not only to recover but also to repurpose waste as part of blended fuels.

2018

By acquiring the Pasadena, Texas-based waste management business Lonestar Ecology, Intergulf boosts its ability to handle hazardous waste and expands solutions available to the Gulf Coast market.

2019

The acquisition of Beaver Oil, which provides waste management services in the Midwest, expands Intergulf’s geographic reach to include the nation’s second largest refining market.

Intergulf and STC come together to form CIRCON Environmental, a forward-thinking leader in refinery tank cleaning, transportation, and waste management.

2021

CIRCON adds Bealine Environmental, further expanding its wastewater treatment capacity in the Gulf Coast market. CIRCON now operates 3 centralized waste treatment facilities in the Gulf Coast.

CIRCON adds Water Integrated Systems (WITS), further expanding its wastewater treatment capacity in the Midwest market. CIRCON now operates 4 centralized waste treatment facilities in the Midwest.
