The exploitation of our quarry began at the end of the 19th century with the construction of the bridge, connecting the villages of Vernay and Villerest, inaugurated in 1906.

This quarry of red granitic porphyry is the original activity of ETABLISSEMENTS CHIAVERINA, which has been in the family bosom since 1933.

Over the generations, the Chiaverina family has developed the business by expanding it with complementary activities. The Chiaverina group is today made up of a quarry and a demolition activity (SAS Chiaverina), a recycling and recovery center (ETR), a transport company (TMBR) and a company asbestos removal (Detroit D).
