Our founders started CDM more than 40 years ago after working in bulk material handling industries for many years. They saw firsthand the challenges of maintaining optimum production levels with conveyors that couldn’t meet the aggressive, 24/7 demands of industries such as chemical, energy, pulp and paper, power generation, glass and minerals processing.

To better serve these industries, CDM broke away from the norm and started its own material handling equipment company under the premise that superior conveyor design started on the inside. We set out to build the highest quality, longest-lasting conveying systems for heavy-duty industrial applications by constructing a superior conveyor chain.

We perfected our chain formula through rigorous testing and analysis to achieve the ideal combination of exterior hardness and a softer, malleable core. This provides exceptional strength while offering flexibility and mitigating brittle cracking. Our unique chain formula, coupled with extensive material handling and conveyor design expertise, sets CDM apart from other conveyor manufacturers.

Today CDM remains one of the world’s strongest, most respected manufacturers of conveyor chains and complete conveying systems. We partner with a global customer base that won’t accept compromises in durability and quality for their bulk material handling applications. Our philosophy and passion for delivering performance and service that exceeds customer expectations are ingrained in our culture.

In 2013, CDM was purchased by KMC Global, a group of industrial material handling equipment manufacturers with a broad product offering that complements our conveying systems. This change in leadership has allowed CDM to continue to grow and offer added engineering and manufacturing resources while maintaining our customer- and employee-focused principles.
