Canada Fibers began in 1990 as a brokerage operation for recycled paper. Since that time, we have evolved into an industry leader, providing complete solutions and sustainable products for municipal, institutional, commercial and industrial sectors.
Since 1992, Canada Fibers has partnered with municipal partners across the province of Ontario, operating merchant-capacity Material Recovery Facilities in the City of Toronto, City of Hamilton, City of Greater Sudbury and Region of Peel. Presently, Canada Fibers processes 60% of Ontario’s Blue Box program materials, as well as services IC&I (Institutional, Commercial and Industrial) sector clients
Canada Fibers has embraced the evolution of the recycling industry and has continuously invested into new technologies to optimize value for clients. Canada Fibers presently owns and operates the largest, and most technologically-advanced single-stream recycling facility in North America, recycling materials primarily from residential sources at a rate of 60+ tonnes per hour, or 350,000 tonnes per year.
In 2014, Canada Fibers entered into agreements to acquire three companies which expanded the portfolio of products and services available to Canada Fibers’ growing customer base. With these acquisitions completed and the formation of a fourth company in early 2015, Canada Fibers announced the Urban Resource Group of companies, comprised of Urban Polymers, Urban Waste Recycling, Urban Biofuels and Urban Garden Products.
