Can-Do Community Recycling was established in 1989 to promote the recycling of both aluminium and steel used beverage containers (UBC) In 1999 Can-Do were recognized as model of excellence in alu-recycling by ALUPRO. Can-Do processes aluminium and steel, food and drink cans, as well as aluminium foil and plastic bottles. We also have a van that picks up from areas located all over the North-East of Scotland.
Can-Do Furniture Project & Bike Project have been developed and are branches of the Can-Do Community Recycling Project. The Furniture project up-cycles and recycles furniture, whilst the bike project refurbishes and recycles bicycles for sale in the community. Training people in new skills.
At Can-Do we provide an environment which is inclusive we do not prevent gender or disability from preventing people from experience and being part of a working project. By working in partnership with other agencies, people from different backgrounds and cultures are able to work together and enhance each other’s experience. Project members then lead healthier lives their emotional health and well being are improved their feelings of self worth and achievement is clear to see. New friendships are made and social skills improved.
This leads to more independence and resilience and often a thirst for another challenge or new opportunity be it in education or employment.
