Calmego Casting Corporation was founded in 1923 by William Frech. It operated on 6th Street in Cincinnati, Ohio at the current Federal Building site. The foundry was moved to a new facility in the 1950’s. William’s sons Bill and Dick gradually took over the business after World War 2. They made aluminum and bronze castings as well as providing machining and nickel plating.
In 1988 the business was purchased by two brothers. They focused their efforts on producing aluminum and bronze castings only. The molding process at that time was still greensand.
In 2011 the current ownership purchased the business. The name was changed to Calmego Specialized Products and the operation was moved to its present location in Greenville, Ohio.
