Bulecopack Joint Stock Company received a permit for activity as an organization for recovery of packaging waste on November 20, 2004.

More than 2,500 companies placing packaged goods on the market are fulfilling their obligations under Art. 14, para. 1 of the WMA for separate collection of packaging waste through the collective system managed by Bulecopack AD.

The organization and construction of separate collection systems is a major part of the activities of Bulecopack AD. The aim of the organization is to achieve effective management of activities related to packaging waste, covering the entire life cycle of packaging - from marketing to recycling. The aim is to collect and recycle as much of the packaging waste as possible so that it does not end up in landfills. For the implementation of the activities for collection, transportation, treatment and recycling of packaging waste Bulecopack AD works with established companies with the necessary permits and registration documents.

Bulecopack AD organizes and manages systems for separate collection of packaging waste in over 60 municipalities, including Sofia, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Kardzhali, Petrich, Sandanski, Asenovgrad, Lom, Chirpan, Novi Pazar, Samokov and others. Separate collection systems cover more than 1,300,000 inhabitants.

The participation of the population is essential for the success of the separate collection, therefore the educational and information activities are a priority for Bulecopack AD. With them the organization aims to raise awareness of the people of the country about the benefits of separate collection of packaging waste, to achieve lasting change in thinking and building a positive attitude of the population to separate collection and environmental protection and to educate the youngest in the spirit of ecological living and resource efficiency.
