BREMCON'S HISTORY IN A NUTSHELL

In January 2009, Bremcon completed its 300th soil remediation project. In the summer of 2009, Bremcon processed its 500,000th ton of soil.

In March  2008  Bremcon cleaned its 400,000th ton of soil.

On December 6, 2006 , all Bremcon shares were acquired by Argex nv from Kruibeke. Argex nv is in turn part of the group of companies around hydraulic engineering contractor Hye nv .

In May 2005 , the 100th groundwater treatment plant was installed. The 200,000th ton was cleaned in August 2005.

In February 2004, Bremcon cleaned its 100,000th ton of contaminated soil. At the end of that year, the 150th soil remediation project was carried out.

In September 2002 Bremcon carried out its 100th soil remediation project.

In June 2002 Grontmij BRP acquired 50% of the shares of AVR in AVR Milieutechiek. In this way A&G Milieutechniek was created, which from then on also acted as the Dutch mother for Bremcon.

In May 2002 Bremcon received an amended environmental permit. This permit makes it possible to receive not only land but also other mineral streams such as sweeping dirt and gully sand. In addition, the capacity was also expanded.

In December 2000 , the Bremcon parent Arcadis Heidemij Realization business unit Environmental Technology was sold to the AVR holding to operate under the new name AVR Milieutechiek. 

In May 2000 , the operational headquarters were transferred from Rijkevorsel to the recycling location in Zwijndrecht (Burcht) at Kruibeeksesteenweg 154.

The first expansion of the soil remediation site was realized in February 2000.

Construction of the first phase of the ground recycling site started in March 1999 .

In October 1998 a building and environmental permit was obtained for the exploitation of our own soil recycling site.

From February 1997 , Bremcon effectively started carrying out soil remediation projects in the Flemish and Brussels parts of the country.

Bremcon nv was founded in October 1996 as a 50-50 joint venture between the Belgian construction group Groep Van Roey nv and the Dutch environmental contractor Arcadis Heidemij Realization of the Environmental Technology business unit. 

Why Bremcon?

Years of industrial activity provided our country with the prosperity we know today. But in many places this also left less beautiful traces.
Abandoned industrial sites, old city gas factories, gas stations, chemical laundries, ... the soil is often seriously polluted in various ways. The remediation of ground and groundwater contamination is therefore a problem that you will sooner or later be confronted with.

A parallel story with integrated water management where the consequences of our spatial planning are well felt. Many scattered houses make collective water collection very expensive. Individual installations for purifying water are therefore indispensable. Due to the increasing flooding during heavy rain showers and the scarcity of groundwater on the one hand, the importance of both reuse and infiltration of rainwater is growing.

Bremcon is a specialized soil remediation and soil recycling company that has recently also focused on some important aspects of integrated water management. Bremcon consists of three departments: remediation projects, CGR / TOP and the commercial department. For the execution of earthworks, we signed a partnership with an earthworks company. Bremcon has its own soil recycling center and a temporary warehouse in Zwijndrecht. We are certified according to the Achilles Protocol for the categories standard works, in-situ remediation and complex works.
