Located northeast of Pittsburgh along the banks of the Allegheny River, Braeburn offers processing capabilities for a complete range of metal alloys, including titanium, refractory metals, high-nickel alloys, and stainless, tool steel, carbon steel, and alloy steels. Braeburn has been particularly successful in processing difficult-to-work materials such as high-nickel or cobalt alloys and titanium.
Braeburn Alloy Steel was founded in 1897 and has been owned by CCX for nearly a half century. Originally a fully integrated manufacturer and distributor of specialty steel bars, Braeburn now operates as a specialist in metal conversion. The experience and quality level of our people, coupled with our enhanced forging press, hand rolling mills, and new 60-inch Amada saw, allows us to work with virtually any metal alloy in the marketplace today. There's no secret to making a success of converting raw metal into specialty stock, it's simply a matter of applying a precise combination of hard work, expertise, facilities, and unflagging dedication to the quality and service our customers need to meet their business goals.
Quality and Service
If there's one lesson to be learned in the transformation of the metals industry, quality and customer service are foremost. That's why we've invested in the computer controls for our 2500-ton forging press. It was done for the sole purpose of giving our customers consistent quality with higher-than-average yields. Maintaining a 42-acre stocking facility is another example of how Braeburn has re-shaped its business to meet customer needs. We have a large storage area available so that our customers can maintain ingot and billet inventory reserves on-site. This facilitates and expedites our service on orders and helps our customers to achieve a low inventory cost. With sufficient customer stock on hand, there are minimum delays when orders are received because metal can go immediately from customer ingot or billet stock to processing, then delivery. So our customers can take advantage of opportunities as they arise by supplying their clients promptly while minimizing metal cost, maintaining minimum inventory, and minimizing cost of possession.
