Vic Bozarth is a Professional Numismatics Guild member (PNG number 661). Both Vic and Sherri Bozarth are members of the ANA, FUN, CSNS, and many other regional and state coin clubs and organizations. BNI is an authorized dealer with PCGS, NGC, ANACS, and CAC grading services. Vic Bozarth started collecting coins at the age of eight. His natural curiosity led him to collect everything from coins and stamps, to rocks, baseball cards, comic books, antique glass, and Indian artifacts. By his early teens, his predominant interest was coins. In Junior High School he and several friends traded with each other and ultimately he and two other classmates formed their first coin company called VDB Coins. The VDB stood for Vic, David, and Bill. Although the alliance seemed a good idea at the time, the company only lasted a few weeks. Vic and his buddies had their first table at a ‘real’ coin show in 1976 in Sedalia, MO. Throughout high school Vic attended shows in eight mid-western states. The 1976 Central States Numismatic Society Show in St. Louis was his first major show. He was ‘hooked’ on coins. As many young numismatists he focused on coins he found in circulation, but soon higher grade Uncirculated and Proof coins caught his eye. By the end of his senior year in high school Vic was buying and selling more expensive BU and Proof coinage. His last show as a young man was at the 1979 ANA in St. Louis, MO. He attended University of Missouri and University of Central Missouri.
In 1987 Vic returned to the coin business ‘walking boxes’ for dealers at major shows. This enabled him to meet the major dealers on the ‘circuit’ of shows all across the United States. In 1988 he took a full time position with Fred Sweeney Rare Coins in Kansas City. After a few years with FSRC, he moved to Chicago and worked for Larry Whitlow’s Galleria Unique. In 1992 he moved to New Jersey and took a position with KRCG, which is known today as Legend Numismatics. From 1996 until 2007, Vic was a buyer for Avena Rare Coins. In 2001, Avena undertook a joint venture with Spectrum Numismatics and Vic was one of their buyers also. He has had extensive experience both buying and selling coins into the mid six figure range. Vic will often say, “grading is everything. Either you have an eye for rare coins or you don’t. In general, a company won’t turn you loose with their checkbook, if you don’t have a ‘good’ eye. Personally I have been very blessed by having the privilege to work for some of the finest numismatists in the United States. Because of those associations, I have personally handled virtually every type and most dates of every U.S. coin ever produced. Getting to see the coins themselves is ‘half the battle’ in learning to grade. The other half of learning to grade is the ability to quantify and know what you are looking at.” Sherri Bozarth is a CPA. Sherri is a Houston, TX native where she attended and graduated from the University of Houston Downtown. During her career as a CPA, Sherri worked at the controller level for several companies. She developed our Ebay Store business as well as coordinating the development of our website. Also, Sherri handles all the financial and record keeping transactions for Bozarth Numismatics Inc. and has picked up an impressive array of numismatic knowledge in a few years. She is a natural sales person and her integrity is above reproach. Both Vic and Sherri attend all major U.S. coin shows as well as most of the larger regional shows. Because of their show and travel schedule, often 200 days a year, they recently hired Teresa Dominguez as their office manager. Teresa handles all the shipping and both the Bozarthcoins website and Ebay listings. Theresa makes sure your coins are shipped in a safe and timely manner upon receipt of payment. BNI is always seeking quality U.S. rare coinage. Their show and travel schedule allow them to offer ‘fresh’ and new material, often referred to as ‘newps’, to their customers every week. BNI also offers customized ‘WANTLIST’ services.
If you are building a set of coins or looking for an elusive date, chances are they can find it. WANTLIST customers get ‘first shot’ at any particular item they are looking for before it is listed on our website. Our WANTLIST service carries no obligations and all our customers’ information is kept in the strictest of confidence. BNI also offers grading services. We are authorized dealers with PCGS, NGC, ANACS, and CAC. We send an average of 150 coins per week for grading. BNI offers free pre-screening services for any coins which you might want to submit for grading. Although we can’t predict with 100% accuracy how a coin will grade, we can help the customer avoid sending ‘problem’ coins that will certainly ‘no grade’ at the grading services. BNI also screens coins that might not be worth sending for grading. As an example, a coin that is worth $30 ungraded and $35 graded probably isn’t worth spending $30 on to grade. Because BNI attends all major and regional coin shows, they also offer auction representation. BNI has professional relationships with all the major auctions houses. Our job is to represent you and avoid buying a coin you don’t feel is ‘up to snuff’. Pictures are great, but having a professional view a coin before you bid is a smart move. Both Vic and Sherri would enjoy meeting you at a coin show in your area. Because of their extensive travel they are often able to schedule an appointment in the customer’s area. They are also available ‘by appointment only’ at their office. Vic and Sherri hope you enjoy your shopping experience and find the treasure you are looking for!
