Both in the Republic of Slovenia and in Europe, the amount of waste is constantly increasing, and the problem of further handling of it is emerging. Millions of tons of waste are transported around the world every day, and their amount is still increasing. This also applies to the Republic of Slovenia, which in the last decade has been faced with increased transport of waste across its borders. The increase is due to the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
The majority of non-hazardous waste in the Republic of Slovenia ends up in municipal landfills. European countries strive for a higher level of recycling. Recycling companies are also responsible for this, one of them is BLOK; a family business whose beginnings date back to 1996.
